My husband and I spoke vaguely once about how it would be cool to have our dogs painted like that famous dogs playing poker painting but never went with it beyond just a thought. And now I know why…because we live in Montana and the master artist that would turn our vision into reality was in New Orleans. Bumped into Ocean and his wonderfully fantastic paintings as many tourist do along Royal Street in New Orleans. It took me 2.5 seconds to realize he was the guy!! I inquired, got his contact information, a free print (bonus!), and three months later, our vague idea showed up packaged with love and pride on our doorstep. It will be hung above our fireplace and will forever be our first piece of custom art that means more than anyone will ever know. Ocean nailed our pets personalities, created the scene better than I could imagine but it was exactly what I wanted, and handled the business side of things like a boss. 10 out of 10 will recommend to anyone and everyone!! This will not be the last painting from Ocean in our house!

Ocean Clark has been a full-time portrait artist since 1997, painting from a studio in the French Quarter in New Orleans, Louisiana. The work is less about perfect realism and more about revealing personality through paint. Using expressive, impressionistic brushwork and vibrant layers of color, Ocean captures the energy, emotion, and spirit that make each subject unforgettable, from beloved musicians and cultural icons to cherished pets. Every piece begins as an original hand-painted work on canvas. Once an original sells, we offer gallery-quality prints and canvas reproductions in a range of sizes.

Can I commission a custom portrait?

Yes! Custom pet, family and celebrity portraits are one of Ocean's most popular offerings. Send us a clear photo and we'll paint it in his signature impressionistic style.

How long does a commission take?

Most commissions are completed within 4 to 6 weeks depending on size and the current queue. We'll give you a timeline before you commit.

How is the artwork shipped?

Originals and canvas prints are carefully packed, insured and shipped worldwide. Paper prints ship flat or rolled depending on size.

What if a piece I love is already sold?

If the original is gone, we can almost always produce a print or canvas of it. Just reach out and we'll let you know your options.

What is your return and exchange policy?

We do not offer refunds, but every eligible Ocean Clark artwork is backed by our 100% Lifetime Guarantee. You can exchange a piece for another Ocean Clark work at any time, subject to a 30% exchange fee plus any price difference and shipping. If your artwork arrives damaged, we will exchange it at no cost when reported within 30 days. Custom commissions and personalized artwork are final sale.
